Oversee and direct construction projects from conception to completion Oversees the daily activities of assigned areas; sets priorities, schedules work assignments, coordinates and supervises staff, vehicles and equipment Monitor construction progress, including worker productivity and compliance with building and safety codes. Liaises with contractors, consultants, service providers and suppliers, Ministry of Transportation and other regulatory agencies to resolve issues, interpret documents, specifications and schedule work Assists with the development and implementation of operating policies and procedures, forms and internal recording documents, best practices and ensures compliance with the associated Acts, by-laws, legislations and regulations Negotiate terms of agreements, draft contracts and obtain permits and licence Supports Health & Safety policies and procedures by ensuring staff compliance Prepare and negotiate cost estimates, budgets, and work timetables Select appropriate construction methods and strategies Interpret and explain contracts and technical information to workers and other professionals Report on work progress and budget matters to clients Collaborate with architects, engineers, and other construction and roads specialists Instruct and supervise construction personnel and activities onsite Respond to work delays and other problems and emergencies Select, hire, and instruct laborers and subcontractors - Comply with legal requirements, building and safety codes, and other regulations
